So much information was given out! It was presented in a colorful and thoughtful manner. I needed an understanding of this curriculum! Thank you!

—Rachel, Virginia

Abeka’s selection for speakers and teachers have always been informative and helpful to me even after twenty years of teaching.

—Dolores, Maine

Probably the best Abeka training I have been to for secondary teachers!

—Kierstin, Washington

Attendance

Who may attend Abeka in-service training?

We invite Christian school teachers, administrators, and staff while readily welcoming others who have a burden for Christian education, including pastors and parents. As a courtesy to others, we ask that no children or infants be in attendance.

Is there a cost to attend?

No, we are able to offer our 2023 in-service trainings free of charge.

Will this be beneficial for a school that uses multiple curricula, rather than just Abeka?

The preschool/kindergarten and elementary tracks build deliberately on the Abeka curriculum but still contain many teaching tips that translate well into any classroom. The secondary track uses the Abeka curriculum in its examples but focuses on the techniques and methods at the heart of effective teaching, no matter the curriculum.

May I attend more than one track?

We occasionally have teachers who teach classes and content that span both elementary and secondary tracks. You are welcome to move in and out of the meeting rooms, catching the specific sessions in each track which you deem most beneficial for your training.

Registration

How do I register?

Under each location listed above, click on the designated registration link. You'll be redirected to a short form to fill out.

Can I register my entire school faculty?

Currently, we are not registering groups. Please encourage each teacher who plans to attend to take a few minutes to complete the form individually.

What is the registration cut off?

Registration remains open through the morning of the event.

Why should I register?

Along with setting up our meeting rooms, we also provide refreshments and lunch. When you take the time to register, you help us prepare more accurately for those who will be in attendance.

If I am no longer able to attend, how do I cancel my registration?

Simply send a cancellation email that includes your name and school to the Abeka representative listed under the training for which you'd registered.

Food and Beverages

What is included in the event?

In addition to content-rich sessions, we also offer morning refreshments and lunch. Refreshments typically consist of coffee, water, granola bars, and fruit. Lunch often consists of a Chik-fil-A sandwich*, chips, packaged dessert, fruit, soft drinks, and water.
* In locations where available

I am unable to eat certain foods. Can my dietary restrictions be accommodated?

We are unable to accommodate special dietary requests at this time, but attendees may bring their own snacks and lunch if needed.

May I come with my own coffee or tea in the morning?

We certainly don't want to separate teachers from their morning beverage. Please be aware, though, that as some of our tracks are held within church sanctuaries, you may be asked to leave your cup or thermos on a designated table outside the sanctuary. You may then slip out of the session from time to time to take those desired sips.

Miscellaneous

May I record the sessions I attend?

While taking pictures of particular slides throughout the presentation is a common practice, we ask that there be no taping of sessions.

How many contact hours will I earn?

Those who attend the complete training will receive at the end of the day a certificate for six contact hours in educational training.

Who can help me with further questions?

Once you determine which training you will be able to attend, reach out to that Abeka representative via the email provided below each location.
