Standardized Testing

Who can use Standardized Testing?

Our tests and testing services are perfect for both homeschoolers and private schools.

What is needed for online testing?

One phone line and One device are needed per student.

What’s covered in the list price of a standardized test?

The paper testing price covers the cost of student test booklets, test administration directions, answer sheets, scoring, and emailing the test results. Whereas, the online testing price covers the online test (proctor include) and emailing the results.

Can I administer the online test?

Abeka is the test administrator for online tests.

Are there sample tests that I can give to my child prior to the actual test?

Yes! You can purchase short sample tests that familiarize your child with standardized testing procedures. These practice tests teach things like recognizing row-finders, following a row across the page, and marking answers properly.
Note: Applicable to Schools Only

What should I do if the materials shipped to me are damaged, incorrect, or defective upon delivery?

Contact us as soon as possible, within 10 days of receiving your order. Customer service will be happy to help!

How soon do I need to return my test?

All Test Booklets, Directions for Administration, and answer documents should be returned to the Abeka office within 30 days of the test date.
Note: Applicable to Schools Only

What if I need more time to test?

Unfortunately, we’re not able to offer extensions.

If I have multiple tests may I return them each at a different time?

Please return all your tests at the same time.

Who pays for returning the test materials?

Customers cover the cost of returning materials by a traceable method. (Abeka doesn’t pay for return shipping or provide a return-shipping label.)

Where do I return my tests?

Return your tests to the following address:

Abeka Testing
5418 Rawson Lane
Pensacola, FL 32503

Note: Applicable to Schools Only

How can I tell if my student passed or not?

Since standardized tests aren’t like typical tests, there’s no pass or fail. Results show proof of progress! Look for areas of strength, possible weaknesses, and how your child compares to other students who’ve taken the test.

My child has special needs. What accommodations are available during testing?

Unfortunately, we do not currently offer testing accommodations for students with special needs. Alternatively, local schools may offer a paper testing option.

How soon will I receive my results?

Online Test results will be available digitally within 10 business days. School test results will be available within 4 to 6 weeks.

Are Abeka Academy student scores reported to Abeka Academy?

No, they’re not; you need to send your results to Abeka Academy as part of state requirements.

What are the requirements for test administrators?

The test administrator must have a Bachelor of Arts or Science degree.
They must also fall under one of the following categories:

  • A certified teacher by a state department of education to teach in a public/conventional school.
  • Previously or currently a full-time academic classroom teacher in a conventional school (not a homeschool).

How do I find my state testing requirements?

The Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) lists federal and state requirements related to homeschooling and testing. Visit the HSLDA website for more information specific to your state.

What is the difference between fall testing and spring testing?

Testing your student in the fall will test them over the previous grades' material that they have learned with a beginning knowledge of their current grade. Testing your student in the spring will test them over the current grade material they have learned with a beginning understanding of their upcoming grade.

Example: Stanford's Primary 3 test is the 4th grade test in the fall (because your student will have just completed 3rd grade and is now in 4th grade), but the 3rd grade test in the spring (because your student will be finishing 3rd grade and will enter 4th grade).

Example: Iowa's Level 7 test is the 2nd grade test in the fall (because your student will have just completed 1st grade and is now in 2nd grade), but the 1st grade test is in the spring (because your student will be finishing 1st grade and will enter 2nd grade).

I did not take the test during my week of testing. Could I be refunded?

Due to the nature of the test, online tests are nonrefundable.

Each state's rules and regulations vary. Check with your state educational department.

Why is the second video in the series not showing up?

The second video will show up after you've watched the first video and completed the assessment.

Why are my previously earned certificates not showing?
