The junior year of high school is the most rigorous your teen will experience. Your child will face pressures from every side as he or she focuses more on his or her future. So it’s important that you, as a parent, remain involved in your child’s life, even as he or she is doing everything more independently. Visit career expos and college fairs together. Take an on-campus visit to colleges your child is considering. Begin researching scholarships. Some of them will have early application deadlines come next fall. Considering everything that needs to be accomplished this year, time management is critical. Help your teen organize and manage his or her time well. To-do lists that you both review together once a week or once a month can be a big help.
