8th Grade

This is an exciting time for your eighth grader. Everything is changing for your child as he or she moves ever closer to being grown up. During this time of rapid growth, you’ll get to witness the development of your eighth grader’s abstract reasoning skills. The same goes for his or her ability to grasp more complex concepts. As his problem-solving skills grow, you’ll no longer need to “hold his or her hand” through difficult learning milestones. With a little time and encouragement, your child will be able to learn more and more on his or her own. Don’t be surprised if your student begins to question or challenge answers. This normal part of his or her intellectual growth affords you the opportunity to interact with him or her on a deeper level and demonstrate the solid reasoning behind what you believe and teach.
