Life Science DVD Instruction – Independent Study (unaccredited)

Watch your seventh grader’s excitement over science grow as he learns to identify a bird by its song and follows the sprouting of a seed before his eyes. Your child’s study of living things this year—from amoebas and bugs to blue whales and dinosaurs—will reveal to him God’s great design and wisdom. His teacher from Abeka Academy introduces him to new and fascinating features in God’s wonderful world and builds on what he already knows about the systems of the body and how all of them work together. He will be guided through all the preliminary steps for doing a scientific investigation, preparing him for future science projects. As he becomes acquainted with the students on the video, he will feel as though he is a part of the class. The teacher will even pause to allow “classmates watching” opportunity to participate.

The prerecorded online video streaming or DVDs give you the flexibility to set your own daily schedule. The video lease provides you with a full 6 months to complete 85 lessons, which take 40–50 minutes of viewing time each. This tuition only option includes assessment materials, a video manual to help you stay on track with the video teacher, and record-keeping progress reports to document progress through the school year.
