• Concepts from Level 2 reinforced. Time will be spent reviewing newer concepts your child learned in level 2. Review includes key signatures, tone production, rhythm and time signature, shifting, and second position fingering. This review gives your child a solid foundation for learning the new techniques introduced in level 3.
• New techniques. Your child will refine technique while learning several new concepts. He will learn new fingerings in first position; new shifting positions in second, third, fourth and fifth position, trills, vibrato, double stops, and modulations. He will get plenty of practice and drilling in each position with the various exercises provided.
• Christ-honoring music to bless your home. Familiar hymns are fun to play and even more fun when they can count as practice. From “Amazing Grace” to “I Will Sing of the Mercies of the Lord,” your child will love the hymn tunes that help him practice his advancing skills. Fill your home with Christ-honoring music!
• General practice. Songs at the end of the book provide extra application. Scale practice and finger exercises are designed to enhance flexibility and dexterity in your child’s playing.
