Is running a business something that interests your teenager? Studying concepts such as accounts receivable and payable, bookkeeping, the New York Stock Exchange, corporate bonds, and small business loans may either reinforce God’s leading him to go into business or convince him to use what he has learned to be a good consumer! This very practical high school math elective gives the basic principles of managing a business, investing, banking—even filling out income tax forms. No one who takes this class ever asks “why do I have to learn this?”
As he enjoys becoming more acquainted with his video classmates, your teen will feel as though he is a part of the class. His Abeka Academy teacher will even pause to allow “students watching” opportunity to participate.
The prerecorded online video streaming or DVDs give you the flexibility to set your own daily schedule. The video lease provides a full 12 months to complete the 170 lessons and 6 months to complete 85 lessons for a semester. You also have the option to purchase either the Video & Books or Video (for those who may already have some of the materials and wish to purchase individual items separately). A video manual is provided with either option to help you stay on track with the video teacher. Also, record-keeping progress reports are included with both options to document your child’s progress through the school year.
Abeka Academy offers two different program types to meet your family’s specific needs. The Unaccredited program allows for more course flexibility and relies solely on the home teacher to keep track of student records. For an additional charge, the Accredited program provides official report cards and standardized testing as well as reliable record-keeping by our academic team. With either option, academic assistance is accessible through email, live chat, or phone. Conveniently view our Homeschool Agreement before purchase to understand the requirements.
