Here are a few tips to assemble your commemorative flags and mount them, if you’d like.
How to Assemble Your First Day Photo Prop for Homeschool
You’ll need:
- Printed triangle flag (on cardstock or regular paper)
- Scissors
- Tape or glue
- A stick, ruler, pencil, dowel, or straw
Step-By-Step Instructions:
Print and Cut
Print your flag, and cut out the triangle shape along the edges.
Prepare Your Stick
Choose what you’d like to use as a handle — a wooden craft stick, unsharpened pencil, straw, small ruler, or dowel all work great!
Position the Flag
Place the flag face down on a table. Lay the stick along the short side (the vertical edge) of the triangle.
Attach the Stick
Use clear tape or glue to secure the stick along the edge of the flag.
Tip: For extra strength, fold the edge of the flag around the stick and tape it on the back side too.
Let It Set (if using glue)
If you used glue, give it a few minutes to dry before handling.
Strike a Pose!
Hold up your first day photo prop and smile — it’s photo time!
