Materials:

1. One sheet of 8.5-by-11-inch printer paper (any color!)
2. Scissors
3. Pencil
4. Markers

Step 1:

Fold a piece of paper in half horizontally. Then, using a pencil, trace one hand with the thumb facing away from the fold.

Step 2:

Cut out the hand outline while the paper is still folded in half.

Step 3:

On the inside of the paper, with the “palms” facing upward, have your child write a heartfelt prayer or a meaningful Bible verse for their dad.

Here are some verses and example prayers your child could include:

“Lord, I pray for my father’s wisdom and guidance. Help him feel your love every day. Amen.”

“God, please protect my dad and keep him safe. Surround him with your love and grace. Amen.”

“I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.” – 1 Timothy 2:8

“What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also” – 1 Corinthians 14:15

“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;” – Luke 18:1

Step 4:

And last, but certainly not least, have them use markers to decorate and personalize their praying hands craft however they’d like!

Now you have an adorable, handmade gift that will surely bring a smile to his face. Happy crafting and Happy Father’s Day! Be sure to tag us in your finished projects on social media using @AbekaHomeschool.
