Create a tabletop Thankful Tree with leaf shaped tags for sharing phrases and words of gratitude.

Materials: 

Colored wire

Wire cutters

Rock

Colored construction paper

Mini clothespins

Pen

Scissors

Tape measurer

Steps:

Step 1: Stretch out a strand of the colored wire to measure approximately 2 ft. Cut with the wire cutters.

Step 2: Cut several more strands of wire and gather them together. Bind them with a small piece of wire about 6 inches from the bottom.

Step 3: Twist the top of the wires together about halfway up to form the tree.

Step 4: Wrap the bottom pieces of the bound wire around the rock. *use caution with the sharp ends of the wire

Step 5: Bend and twist the remaining portion of the wires to resemble branches.

Step 6: Cut out a simple leaf shape from the construction paper. *tip: make one leaf drawing and use it as a template for matching leaves.

Step 7: Write words and phrases of gratitude on the leaves with a pen.

Step 8: Clip the leaves onto the branches with a mini clothespin.
